ESTIMATED QUEUE TIME 0:15 – 1:30

The core rule

The pause key does nothing.

FTL taught you to think in frozen time. Multiplayer takes that away. Everything you knew still applies — you just have to do it while someone else is doing it to you.

Single player
00:00Paused

You stop the universe, read every tooltip, queue four weapons on the exact room you want and unpause into a perfect turn. The AI waits politely. It has always waited.

Multiplayer
04:12Live

The hull breach is spreading, their boarding party is already in your medbay and the shield you were about to reroute just took an ion hit. Nobody is waiting. Decide now, or decide worse in four seconds.

What you get

Everything from FTL, aimed at a human

Same systems, same ships, same terrible luck with Rock cruisers. A ruleset built so the better captain wins.

No pause. Ever.

FTL's pause button is gone. Vent the fire, reroute shields and fire the volley while your opponent is doing exactly the same. Every second you spend in a menu is a second they are shooting you.

Ranked 1v1 arena

Placement matches put you on the ladder, then MMR moves with every win. Nine tiers from Scrapper to Flagship, seasonal resets, and a regional leaderboard that resets the argument about who is actually best.

Mirrored economy

Both captains get the same scrap, the same store inventory and the same jump options. Nothing you lose is down to a bad sector roll — it is down to what you bought and when.

Crew combat that bites back

Board a human and they will vent the room, weld the door and meet you with a Mantis. Teleporter timing, oxygen management and door control all become real skills instead of AI puzzles.

Built for the clock

Deterministic lockstep simulation with rollback for input latency, regional servers and a visible ping meter before you ever press Find Match.

Spectate and review

Every ranked match is recorded. Scrub the replay, watch the power curves diverge and find the exact jump where it went wrong. Share the link, settle the argument.

The hangar

Bring the ship you actually trust

Every unlocked layout is legal in ranked. Boarding builds, ion control, beam snipes — the meta is yours to break.
